A character can use contortionism techniques to escape from bonds or to squeeze his/her body into a small space.
When a character is tied or chained up and attempts to break free, he/she should make a dice roll using his/her Athletics (including contortions specialism) + CO.
The difficulty depends on what the bonds are and how well they are tied as follows:
Situation | Difficulty value |
Loosely tied ropes | 1 |
Well-tied ropes | 6 |
Steel chains | 12 |
When a character tries to fit his/her body into a small space or tries to squeeze through a narrow gap, he/she should make a dice roll using his/her Athletics (including contortions specialism) + CO.
The difficulty depends on how small the space is compared to the character:
Situation | Difficulty value |
Slightly smaller - requires a bit of bending | 1 |
Much smaller - requires character to curl up or twist round significantly | 6 |
Very much smaller - requires character to dislocate limbs to fit | 12 |
