2.43.4 Sensing danger underground

A character can sense danger underground (e.g. rocks about to fall, poisonous gases, flooding risks, etc.) if he/she makes a dice roll using his/her Mining (including Navigation and Survival underground/Sensing danger specialisms) + PE.

The difficulty depends on how obvious the danger is, at the referee's discretion, from 2 for a very obvious danger to 12 to a very subtle threat.
