2.19.2 Judging structural safety

A character can spot dangerous weaknesses in structures if he/she makes a dice roll using his/her Engineering (including relevant specialisms) + PE.

The difficulty value depends on how obvious the structural weaknesses are, which depends on how well the building was designed and built, as follows:

Design Construction -> Abysmally built Poorly built Competently built Well built Excellently built
Abysmally designed 2 3 4 5 6
Poorly designed 3 4 5 6 7
Competently designed 4 5 6 7 8
Well designed 5 6 7 8 9
Excellently designed 6 7 8 9 10

If the character fails the dice roll, he/she will believe that the building is structurally sound (whether or not it is). If the character succeeds in the dice roll, he/she will spot any major design or construction failings in the building.
