2.20.2 Judging what an animal is about to do

A character can judge what an animal is about to do if he/she makes a dice roll using the relevant skill (see below) + PE.

Type of animal Relevant skill
Domesticated animal Farming
Wild animal Survival
Mount or team of animals pulling a vehicle Riding

The difficulty of the dice roll depends on how predictable the animal is and how obvious the animal's mood is, from 3 for a very predictable situation to 12 for a unpredicable animal.

The character is essentially judging the animal's mood and what its thoughts are. A successful dice roll will also tell the character what the animal's likely response to an action will be (e.g. if the character moves towards the animal, will it attack?).
