A character can influence an animal's behaviour to calm it down if he/she makes a dice roll using the relevant skill (see below) + WP.
| Type of animal | Relevant skill |
| Domesticated animal | Farming |
| Wild animal | Survival |
| Mount or team of animals pulling a vehicle | Riding |
The difficulty of the dice roll depends on how angry the animal is and how stubborn the animal is, as follows:
| Situation | Difficulty value |
| Animal is agitated | 8 |
| Animal is afraid | 10 |
| Animal is enraged | 12 |
| Animal is completely out of control through fear | 14 |
| Animal knows and trusts the character | -2 |
| Animal is easily trained/influenced (e.g. horse, dog) | -3 |
| Animal is domesticated, but not easily trained (e.g. cow, pig) | +0 |
| Animal is virtually untrainable | +3 |
A successful dice roll will calm the animal down.
A character may not attempt to pacify an animal if he/she has attacked the animal.
