2.50.3 Making potions

A character can use his/her Science skill to make potions that can be used as the material component of magical investments.

A potion is made from 0.5 litres of water, plus small amounts of other chemicals (as befits the kind of magic being invested). The quality of the potion is equal to half the result of a dice roll made by the maker of the potion using his/her Science (including Making potions specialism) + IQ.

The potion created can then be used to invest a single-charge ward into the potion. The ward is triggered when the potion is drunk with the target being the person drinking the potion. The person investing the enchantment may add the quality of the potion as a investment modifier to his/her dice roll to invest the enchantment.
